The Public Policy workgroup aims to share perspectives of coalition members with policy makers to inform key policies and practices. In addition, this committee will develop educational material on important issues for stakeholders.

Meets 1^st Thursday of the Month from 10:00-11:00 am PST

The Nevada Minority Health and Equity Coalition’s African American Steering Committee gathers community organizations, community members, and researchers to engage, discuss, and mobilize efforts that will improve social determinants of health among Nevada’s African-American communities. Members of the steering committee will help to inform priority areas that impact the health and well-being of African-American communities, as well as develop and implement strategies to address the identified priorities.

Meets 2^nd Thursday of the Month from 9:00-10:00 am PST

The Nevada Minority Health and Equity Coalition’s Latinx Steering Committee gathers community organizations, community members, and researchers to engage, discuss, and mobilize efforts that will improve social determinants of health among Nevada’s Latinx communities. Members of the steering committee will help to inform priority areas that impact the health and well-being of Latinx communities, as well as develop and implement strategies to address the identified priorities.

Meets 4^th Monday of the Month from 11:00 am-12:00 pm PST

The Nevada Minority Health and Equity Coalition’s LGBTQIA+ Steering Committee aims to enhance resources and knowledge of LGBTQIA+ through outreach, partnership and collaboration, education, and research. Our main priorities include improving the health, increasing housing access and resources, as well as related needs of LGBTQIA+ communities in Nevada.

The Nevada Minority Health and Equity Coalition’s Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Steering Committee gathers community organizations, community members, and researchers to engage, discuss, and mobilize efforts that will improve social determinants of health among Nevada’s AANHPI communities. Members of the steering committee will help to inform priority areas that impact the health and well-being of AANHPI communities, as well as develop and implement strategies to address the identified priorities.

Members of the steering committee will help to inform priority areas that impact the health and spiritual well-being of Nevada tribal communities, as well as develop and implement strategies to address the identified priorities.
