Patricia Gallimore was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She moved to Reno, Nevada with her husband of 40 years in 1990, continuing her illustrious 31-year career with AT&T. Patricia whose longshoreman father raised her in a union home, immediately made her Northern Nevada impact by quickly becoming the Chief grievance steward and executive officer with Communication Workers of America (CWA) local 9413, working on
policies, negotiations and contracts until her retirement.
Patricia studied Social Work at Cal State Long Beach, with a minor in African American studies, in line with her passion for social justice, civil rights and equality for all. Patricia is a 2013 EMERGE Nevada graduate, where she later served on the board. Patricia is the current President of the Reno-Sparks NAACP and was additionally the President of the Reno-Sparks NAACP from 2015-2018. She previously served as a member of the Reno-Sparks Executive Committee, was Chair of the 2011 Freedom Fund Banquet, and served as
2nd Vice President and 1st Vice President of the Reno-Sparks NAACP. At the 2016 and 2017 National Conventions, Patricia served on the credential committee. She has attended the Tri State conference in Idaho, Nevada and Utah and has been the moderator for criminal justice panels. Patricia is a Silver Life Member of the NAACP.
Patricia is the President for retirees for CWA in Nevada, Vice President of Nevada Alliance for Retired Americans (NARA) for CWA, Vice Chair of the Black Caucus of Washoe County, board member for Northern Nevada HOPES, prior board member of the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLAN), prior secretary for the Democratic Women of Washoe County (DWWC), prior member of the Reno/Sparks Negro Business & Professional Women’s Club, member of the Washoe County Senior Advisory Board, and member of the
Nevada Minority Health and Equity Coalition advisory board. She is additionally a long-time Nevada State Legislative civil rights lobbyist. Patricia prides herself in assisting with and facilitating many civic activities, including marches, protests, forums, law enforcement negotiations, and other community matters demanding immediate attention, often from multiple parties and entities, requiring a fair and just resolution.
Patricia has been a small business owner for 13 years. Her business, G-Fusion Fitness and Health, offers nutritional information and fitness classes. Patricia is a certified Zumba and Zumba Gold instructor. Patricia is supported by her loving husband, Donald Sr., 4 children and 9 grandchildren.
