Bio: The Nevada Office of Minority Health and Equity (NOMHE) operates under a mission to ensure access to and improve quality of healthcare for minorities throughout the state of Nevada, with an emphasis on equity. The long-range NOMHE goal is to promote / facilitate the systemic embedding of health equity and demonstrate the positive impact of culturally sensitive health care programming and services across all health-determining sectors/activities.
As Program Manager, I work in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (and a national network of 40+ state-level OMHE’s), my state-level Advisory Board and external partnering organizations to identify needs, forward-thinking trends and opportunities to reverse disparities. Using this data, I establish programmatic goals to further the OMHE mission, ensuring that state agency funding is aligned with state-wide needs and offer assistance to community groups to implement related initiatives.
