DESCRIPTION:Register Here (Space is Limited)Workshop Description:\nThis workshop will provide an overview of how to co-develop an evidence-informed health program that incorporates theoretical and empirical evidence and engages community stakeholders in the planning process. We will provide an overview of the six steps of the Intervention Mapping process\, and how a trauma-informed approach can enhance the creation of more effective evidence-informed programs within diverse cultural contexts. \nLearning Objectives:\n\nReview the six steps of the Intervention Mapping process and their related tasks for effective program planning;\nDescribe the guiding principles of a trauma-informed approach to program planning in diverse cultural contexts;\nDiscuss applications of evidence-informed program within diverse cultural contexts.\n\nFeatured Speakers\nGabriela Buccini\, Ph.D.\, MSc\, IBCLC\nAssistant Professor\, School of Public Health\nUniversity of Nevada\, Las Vegas \nDr. Gabriela Buccini is an Assistant Professor of Social and Behavioral Health. She has experience in evaluating and co-designing evidence-informed infant feeding and early childhood interventions in low-income settings in the U.S and globally. She teaches “Program Evaluation in Health Promotion” and “Implementation Science for Global Health” in the graduate program at UNLV School of Public Health. \nKaleigh Mancha\, LMFT\, Certified Full Spectrum Doula\nOwner\, K.a.y. & M.e.\nCo-Founder\, Heart and Sol Collective \nKaleigh Mancha has served as a full spectrum birth worker & Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist for almost 15 years\, specializing in perinatal & postpartum mental health conditions\, reproductive experiences\, medical trauma & complex PTSD. She has been a certified yoga teacher for 10 years & currently oversees all yoga programming & mentorship of teachers at Yoga Haven as their Program Director. \nAdditionally\, Kaleigh co- founded Heart & Sol Collective in 2020\, a queer & BIPoC founded nonprofit that provides accessible & culturally responsive services to address maternal health disparities in the Las Vegas community. The CBPR approach strives for shared decision-making and involvement of partners and community members during all phases of the process. This workshop will introduce CBPR\, its principles\, critical points in partnership development\, and aspects to consider throughout the research and partnership processes. This workshop is for anyone interested in conducting research and assessment with communities. As the Chief Clinical Officer at The LGBTQ+ Center of Southern Nevada\, Dr. Ramirez is at the vanguard of HIV prevention and personalized patient care. Her work\, which bridges healthcare policy and direct patient interaction\, underscores her commitment to groundbreaking healthcare delivery. \nHer leadership tenure includes notable positions on the Silver State Scripts Board\, Co-Chair of the Southern Nevada HIV Prevention Planning Group\, and chairperson of the LGBTQIA+ Workgroup for the Nevada Minority Health and Equity Coalition. Through these platforms\, Dr. Ramirez spearheads initiatives that foster dialogue and collaboration across agencies and communities. \nDr. Ramirez’s expertise is reflected in past roles with EquiScript\, Optum Specialty Pharmacy\, and Avella Specialty Pharmacy\, where she demonstrated excellence in clinical operations and business development and received recognitions such as Clinical Pharmacist of the Year and Retail Pharmacist of the Year\, affirming her excellence in patient care. \nMoreover\, Dr. Ramirez is a fervent educator and mentor. Previously\, Laura served as the Executive Director of Gender Justice Nevada and co-founded the Nevada Alliance for Student Diversity. In these capacities\, she actively engaged in legislative and policy advocacy to safeguard the rights of transgender students in Nevada schools. \nAs a grant writer\, Laura has successfully secured funding from notable sources including the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC)\, Groundswell Fund\, The Gill Foundation\, The American Heart Association\, Scan Health Plan\, NV Energy\, The Engelstad Foundation\, and the Third Wave Fund. \nLaura is currently focused on enhancing and expanding programs for LGBTQ+ youth and seniors through strategic grant initiatives. His research aims to address Latino health disparities. He was born and raised in Southern California and is the first male in his family to graduate from college. He earned his BS in Psychology from University of California\, Davis\, his MPH from San Diego State University\, and his PhD in Health Promotion Sciences from Claremont Graduate University. Prior to coming to UNLV\, he completed a postdoctoral training at UCLA Fielding School of Public Health working on various interventions to address health disparities (e.g.\, HPV vaccination\, colorectal cancer screening\, and preschool obesity prevention). Dr. Johansen strives to train and work alongside the next generation of public health practitioners in Southern Nevada. \nChibudom Yanez\nSenior Management Analyst\nThe City of Las Vegas \nChibudom Yanez has lived in Las Vegas for over seven years and currently serves as a Senior Management Analyst for the City of Las Vegas. With a diverse background in government agencies and non-profit organizations throughout the Las Vegas Valley\, she brings extensive experience to her role. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Education from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph\, Minnesota. Originally from Nigeria\, Chibudom immigrated to the United States at a young age\, sparking her passion for engaging underserved populations and ethnically diverse communities. Her career has included roles in Foster Care Services\, case management at a local WIC and Early Head Start organization\, and international partnerships promoting equity and education in Spanish-speaking countries. She has designed and facilitated trainings on family preservation\, nutrition education\, and community engagement.
